REHABZONE EPP Peanut Roller / 16cm(L) x 8cm(D) / Black
Foam rolling is a self-myofascial release (SMR) technique that is used by athletes and physical therapists to inhibit overactive muscles. Historically, since as recent as 2005, the first foam roller was patented for use as a therapy tool for self-myofascial release muscle therapies.
Benefits of foam rolling have to do with the mobility of the fascia. Fascia is a fibrous layer of connective tissue that surrounds all of the muscles in our body. Without proper mobility, fibers of the fascia become cross linked and they bind to muscles and nerves, inhibiting normal motion and causing pain.
The unique shape of the Peanut Roller allows for improved targeting of sensitive problem areas such as the back and neck. Conventional foam rollers are not ideal due to their design which may apply unwanted pressure on bony areas and are harder to maneuver. The Peanut Roller features a gap between which allows the spine/neck to sit comfortably while the muscles on either side are worked on.
