Compression therapy is commonly used for workout recovery or to reduce swelling and inflammation due to its ability to promote blood flow and lymphatic drainage. Our compression products are designed for use by healthy individuals for sports/workout purposes and may not be suitable for medical use.
Active Compression
Makes use of a externally-powered device to provide pneumatic (air pressure) compression. Active Compression devices are able to perform intermittent compression, which allows compression to be applied on and off while in use. This intermittent compression, combined with the ability to apply higher compressive pressures makes them more effective for sports/workout recovery similar to a massage. May also be combined with an ice/heat pack for added hot/cold therapy.
Note: May be too strong for medical usage. Please check with your doctor/physiotherapist before using.
Passive Compression
Usually in the form of garments like shorts or sleeves, these provide a lower level of compressive pressure and do not provide intermittent compression compared to Active Compression devices. These are usually worn during workouts to delay fatigue or post-workout for quicker recovery.
Heat Compression
Comes in a neoprene wrap which can be adjusted to provide compression to a certain body part.
