Getting Started
Securely rest the device on the intended treatment area, and long press either the cold or hot button to power the device on and begin treatment. If placing the device on the intended treatment area makes the cold and hot buttons out of reach, power on and choose your treatment first.

Cold Therapy
Long press the cold (snowflake) button to begin cold treatment. The cold button will illuminate as blue as the cold treatment begins. Short press the cold button at any point during treatment to toggle through temperature options: 1 LED light: 16 ℃ (61 ℉) (default), 2 LED lights: 12 ℃ (54 ℉), 3 LED lights: 8 ℃ (46 ℉). The treatment will run for 18 minutes.

Heat Therapy
Long press the hot (heat wave) button to begin hot treatment. The hot button will illuminate as orange as the hot treatment begins. Short press the hot button at any point during treatment to toggle through temperature options: 1 LED light: 35 ℃ (95 ℉) (default), 2 LED lights: 39 ℃ (102 ℉), 3 LED lights: 43 ℃ (109 ℉). The treatment will run for 24 minutes.

Contrast Therapy
For contrast mode, simultaneously long press both the cold and hot buttons. Both the cold and hot buttons will illuminate as the contrast treatment begins. The treatment will run for 20 minutes, spending five minutes in cold treatment and five minutes in hot treatment, and repeating once. Short press the cold or hot button at any point during their respective treatment to toggle through temperature options (Cold: 3 LED lights: 8 ℃ (46 ℉) (default), 1 LED light: 16 ℃ (61 ℉), 2 LED lights: 12 ℃ (54 ℉); Hot: 3 LED lights: 43 ℃ (109 ℉) (default), 1 LED light: 35 ℃ (95 ℉), 2 LED lights: 39 ℃ (102 ℉). Treatment times do not reset when the treatment temperature is changed. Treatment times do reset when switching between hot and cold treatment. The device will power off once the treatment is complete. Long press the cold or hot button to turn off the device.

RecoveryTherm Cube can be used as a handheld device or securely fastened to the treatment area using the Cube Strap Frame and straps provided. Use the device directly on the skin to maximize benefits or through light clothing if desired. To use as a handheld device, place the device on the intended treatment area with the Therabody logo facing out. Grip the device using the recommended flat grip area on each side. Do not cover air vents or lay on top of the device. Use the device by either holding it still on the treatment area or gently massaging.

What is the difference between the Normatec 2.0 and Normatec 3?

Normatec 3 includes all the features you need and love about your Normatec, right at your fingertips on the easy-to-use control unit. Our newly designed control unit is more ergonomic, includes Premium Soft Touch finish, and an attachment selection feature, allowing you the ability to easily switch between attachments and mode. It is also lighter in both form factor and weight (4 x 3.75 x 8 in/3.2lbs) and has a 50% increase in battery life over our previous models. 

With the Hyperice App you can access Pro-grade customization features that have previously only been available when you purchase the Normatec 2.0 Pro. You are able to focus specifically on any areas that need extra rehab care. This means that you would be able to target a specific area of the leg and adjust the amount of time and pressure devoted towards that specific area.

NORMATEC PULSE MASSAGE PATTERN 

Before the NormaTec Pulse massage pattern begins, you will experience a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your exact body shape. Once the pre-inflate cycle is complete, the NormaTec Pulse massage pattern will begin by compressing your feet, hands, or upper quad (depending on which attachment you are using). Similar to the kneading and stroking performed during a massage, each zone of the attachments will first compress in a pulsing manner and then release as the compression pattern works its way up your limb. When the top zone completes its massage, there will be a brief rest period and then the cycle will begin again. This will repeat until the session time runs out.

When the session is resumed after a pause, the system will perform a pre-inflate cycle before continuing.

How do I operate the Normatec 3?

Step 1: Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet and then into the Normatec 3 device.

This device is equipped with a lithium ion battery. The battery automatically charges when the power supply is connected to the Normatec 3 device and an electrical outlet.

Step 2: Connect the hose connector to the air outlet on the Normatec 3 device. The connector can only be inserted in the correct orientation. Insert the connector firmly into the Normatec 3 device until you hear an audible “click.”

Step 3: Put the leg, arm, or hip attachments on. Find a comfortable position sitting, reclined, or lying down. If the attachments have a zipper, be sure to zip up the attachments completely. Never try to use the system with the zipper partially or totally unzipped—this could void your warranty. Only one set of attachments can be used with a single device. When using more than one attachment, make sure they are both of the same type.

Step 4: Connect the attachment connectors on each attachment to the junction box air outlets. The attachment connectors can only be connected to the junction box in the correct orientation. Insert the attachment connectors firmly into the junction box air outlets until you hear an audible “click.”

If only one attachment will be connected to the junction box, use the blocking plug located on the underside of the junction box to block off the unused junction box air outlet. Press firmly to make sure the blocking plug is fully seated.

Step 5: Press the power button on the Normatec 3 device firmly for one second to turn on the system. While the device is on, the LED lights on the face of the unit will come on. The number of lights at the top will indicate your battery level.

Step 6: Select your desired settings, and press the Start/Stop button to being compression. Settings can be adjusted A session can be adjusted or ended at any time by pressing this button again.

What is ZoneBoost™?

Customize each session with different intensity levels and give yourself a little extra attention wherever you need it most with ZoneBoost™.

ZoneBoost™ allows you to increase the intensity of a single zone on your attachment by adding an extra 60 seconds of massage time as well as 10mmHg increased pressure in the selected zone.

Are there any contraindications for the Normatec?

The Normatec recovery systems are FDA cleared devices that are safe for home use. Do not use Normatec if you have any of the following conditions:

-Acute pulmonary edema

-Acute thrombophlebitis

-Acute congestive cardiac failure

-Acute infections

-Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

-Episodes of pulmonary embolism

-Wounds, lesions, infection, or tumors at or near the site of application

-Where increased venous and lymphatic return is undesirable

-Bone fractures or dislocations at or near the site of application

How do I care for my Normatec?

Cleaning the system

To clean the device:

  • Wipe down the system with a damp, clean cloth or any antiseptic wipe.
  • Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.

Cleaning the single-person use leg, arm, or hip attachments

  • Wipe down the legs, arms, or hip attachments inside and out with a damp, clean cloth or antiseptic wipe
  • Dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
  • Do not machine wash or dry
  • Do not dry clean.

Maintaining the system

The device, hose, power supply, and attachments (legs, arms, or hips) require no routine maintenance or service except for the care in this section in our Product Manual

Storing the system

Store device, hose, power supply, and attachments (legs, arms, or hips) in a clean, dry location.
